The cycle path from Weesen to Lutterloh in the Southern Heath runs along good paths with a fine gravel surface, making it pleasant to ride on. The route leads through a variety of quiet pine forests and heathlands, as well as open fields. Away from major roads, the path offers plenty of peace and quiet, making it particularly suitable for leisurely cyclists. Forest edges and clearings invite you to take short breaks, making the tour not only practical but also scenically very attractive.

Highly recommended section of the Heidschnuckenweg (Heidschnucken Trail). It's one of the most beautiful long-distance hiking trails in Germany.

The heath is always worth a visit – not just during the heather bloom in August, when the landscape transforms into a glorious purple. The nature park stretches over 480 square kilometers between the heathland villages of Eschede, Hermannsburg, Müden, Unterlüß, and Winsen (Aller). The Southern Heath Nature Park offers protection to animals sensitive to disturbance, such as the crane and the black stork. Herds of Heidschnucke sheep (Heidschnucke sheep) take care of the landscape – they regularly nibble on the heather.
