The Protestant Church of St. John in Schaprode is one of the oldest churches on the island of Rügen. The brick building can be visited ("Tritt ein" - open churches) and is surrounded by a churchyard with green lawns. Events are regularly held here, mostly concerts, but sometimes a film screening. Pastor Holz opens the church for me again when I arrive, and he was already about to leave for the day. Very nice!

Above north of the monastery not suitable for bicycles - area around the lighthouse only for pedestrians, steep incline with 2 steps, path with small concrete slabs laid across - better to park the bike at the monastery and then walk
