A beautiful, shady bike path. Partially equipped with information boards and points of interest. Easy to ride, but the signage could be better. Tip: Plan ahead on Komoot and use your navigation system/mobile phone as well.

🖐️Beautiful cycle path, the Werra cycle path has been a busy connection between my old and new home since 1994. But 🚴🏾🚴🏾drivers, please pay more attention to pedestrians/hikers. This was and still is their route. 🖐️

🖐️ Even if it is not the direct route by bike from Witzenhausen to Göttingen, the "detour" via the Wendebach reservoir and along the Garte is definitely worth it. On the way back, you just take the slightly shorter, usual route. Wait, there are at least two more. 😎

What an experience! I've done it several times from Witzenhausen. Alone, as a couple, and with visitors. I'd love to do it again. 🖐️ See, among others, https://www.komoot.de/tour/1813351141?ref=aso . The 2025 tour will hopefully follow soon, despite the reduced program.🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️

Bursfelde Monastery had a major impact on European monastic life with its reforms in the 15th century and therefore has a great history! The complex, parts of which have been preserved today, is particularly impressive with the Romanesque basilica of St. Thomas and St. Nicholas. Definitely worth seeing!
