This used to be the Riegeler Brewery, which, according to its name, means "Riegeler Beer." There was also always an Oktoberfest with Bock beer. Today, there is an art exhibition, lofts for living, and even a small private brewery.

The Dreisamtal Cycle Path runs through the valley with almost no incline and offers a relaxing ride with magnificent views of the Black Forest hills. Along the way, there are numerous places to stop for refreshments, playgrounds, and farms.

A sign explains the function of the old weir, which is no longer in use. Around 200 meters upstream, the old Dreisam, which used to flow close past Eichstetten, was diverted into the canal bed that now exists. As a canalized river, it now flows past Eichstetten and Bahlingen and joins other rivers in Riegel in the Leopold Canal, which in turn flows further northwest into the Rhine. You can therefore cycle along the water to the Rhine (and further along it if necessary). At or from this point downstream, the Dreisam often dries up in summer. Rapid dredging measures in 2024 prevented countless fish from dying.
