Because old signposts show the course of old roads and connections, especially in the immediate vicinity, and are therefore of regional importance. Romanesque choir tower church originally with entrance in the north. In 1257 a pastor of Ulla is mentioned for the first time. In 1472 the church was extended to the east with a Gothic choir. It has one of the first towers raised in the Baroque era, which was renovated at the beginning of the 21st century. In the 18th and 19th centuries, galleries and a pulpit altar were installed. The latter was removed again in 1980 in favor of the Gothic choir. 1997-2000 masonry securing with the help of the German Foundation for Monument Preservation. In front of the church is a memorial to the theologian and university reformer Wilhelm Martin Leberecht de Wette, who was born in the Ulla rectory in 1780. His birthday is celebrated in the village on January 12th. The church has a playable Witzmann organ. In 2012 extensive work will be carried out on the entrance, gallery and choir room. During this time, the use of the church is restricted.

Until 1945, Nohra was used as a Luftwaffe air base. After the Second World War, the airfield became a helicopter base for the Soviet armed forces in East Germany. Among other things, the 336th Combat Helicopter Regiment and the 46th Radio Technical Battalion of the 8th Army were stationed here. The troop quarters were on the other side of the street of today's B7 between Nohra and Obergrunstedt. When it was withdrawn in the early 1990s, various versions of Mi-2, Mi-6, Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters flew in Nohra. The field had a short paved runway, a hangar and a radio beacon. Today the plant is closed and largely demolished.
