Here, the small Kirschbach stream babbles along, a tributary of the Lottenbach, which flows towards Weimar. The natural Kirschbach valley is popular with photographers and painters alike.

St. Mary's Church is the central focal point in the heart of the village and is located directly on the "Thuringian Towns Chain" cycle path. It was portrayed by Lyonel Feininger. The Tröbsdorf war memorial was erected for the victims of the First World War. The memorial consists of a brick obelisk on a pedestal, flanked by cannonballs. The pedestal bears lists of the names of those who fell between 1914 and 1918, which were later supplemented by the names of local residents who died in the Second World War. The Napoleon Stone commemorates the Erfurt Congress of Princes of 1808, with the meetings between Napoleon and Tsar Alexander I, which took place on this site. It was ceremoniously opened to the public in May 1911. With its design, it remains a very beautiful place to linger.
