The Hubertusquelle was a mineral water spring in the Höllental Valley that once flowed from a crevice on the banks of the Selbitz River. It has since dried up, but its former location is still recognizable by the rust-brown stones near the refuge.

The Reißersruh hut is also recommended, easy to reach and with the best views of Ziegenrück and the surrounding area.

The hiking hut is located directly on the Rennsteig and is beautifully shaded and covered👍
