There are a few steps leading up to the rock (easily manageable even with cycling shoes). The path doesn't seem to be very busy—the steps are somewhat overgrown by bushes. But the view from the top is definitely worth it. There's only a small platform at the top, though, with room for a maximum of 10 people.

The climb from Ebermannstadt is quite a challenge. In town, it starts off straight up, then continues in switchbacks, sometimes with gradients up to 14%, if you can trust the signs. Up on the plateau, there are a few more meters of elevation gain to the airport, which are quite painful.

Magnificent view of Greifenstein Castle!👍

Greifenstein Castle is one of the most famous mountain castles in the Franconian Jura. It was first mentioned in 1172. The castle is medieval in its core, but its exterior was redesigned in 1683/93 according to plans by Leonard Dientzenhofer. It has been owned by the Counts Schenk von Stauffenberg since the end of the 17th century. It is worth visiting the Counts von Stauffenberg's extensive weapons and antler collection.
