The so-called Kavalierhaus is one of the most important buildings in Gifhorn in terms of architectural history. It was built in 1546 for a senior court official. The stone façade in the Renaissance style is unique among Gifhorn's town houses. The renowned castle and fortress builder Michale Clare worked here and was also responsible for the castle as an architect.
