The castle is privately owned. Visits to the castle itself are only possible by prior arrangement.

The lake actually only came into being as a separate body of water with the construction of the "Alter Dam" in 1869. Conveniently, it was then called Castle Lake. Another part further south, artificially separated by a dam, is the castle pond 😊. Unfortunately, the castle that gave it its name no longer exists.

Diedersdorf Castle was built in the mid-18th century. Its exterior has been changed and supplemented a few times, the most clearly recognizable is the neo-baroque, richly decorated portal from 1876. On the south side, an open staircase leads to the castle park with a small lake and old trees.

If you have time, you should also visit the park (on foot). Especially in hot summer temperatures you will find nice shady spots here.

The castle Diedersdorf was built in the 8th century for the War Council of Kunow in the style of a "manor house" and changed several times over time. Today it is privately owned and can be visited from the outside. A walk through the castle park is worthwhile!
