The Castle Church is located in the west of the old town of Wittenberg at the end of the Castle Street coming from the market. It is structurally connected to Wittenberg Castle and forms the northern side wing of the castle's three-wing complex, which is open to the east. Access to the church is via its north side. The church is not strictly oriented towards the east. Its longitudinal axis deviates from the east direction by about 14 degrees to the south. Very beautiful, historic square lined with magnificent buildings. There is a lot to discover, it is advisable to linger here for a while.

A beautiful park with Gothic-style buildings, a castle, a wide variety of plants, a rose island, and idyllic waterways with a ferry service and countless water lilies. There are also several places to eat and drink. Ideal for a day trip and worth a visit any time of year. Nearby, there is a falconry with daily flight demonstrations at 3 pm.

Very well preserved windmill. We were lucky. The mill was open and we got a good look inside.

Vis-a-vis with the historic mill, there is a discarded ferry next to the bike path. Quite huge and astonishingly little depth from this unfamiliar land perspective.

The church was built between 1490 and 1515 and has since formed a wing of the castle. The 88 meter high tower with its neo-Gothic tower dome from the years 1885/1892 can be seen from afar. The church became famous through the 97 theses of Luther posted on October 31, 1517.
