The local celebrity is Kosta, the tavern's owner. He occasionally plays a game of ouzo with the guests. No one leaves here without a homemade ouzo. A pure culinary experience.

The honey from this area is one of the best and highest quality in the world.

Many of these ancient trees can be found along the riverbed. They're wonderful for hiking.

Unfortunately, it's closed. Probably for a while.

Kostas is a real character. You have to experience him to understand. He's not for the faint-hearted.

The Athanasios Chapel, which is illuminated every year on January 18th for the patron saint's day, is a highlight of the village. The Feast of Agios Athanasios is celebrated around the church, an event that enlivens the otherwise quiet atmosphere of the village and attracts numerous visitors.

Kastro is located in the center of the island of Thasos, on a high plateau (470–500 m above sea level) northwest of Theologos. According to the 2011 Greek census, Kastro has a population of nine.

This old village, which now has an access road, is being rebuilt. You can admire both old and new pretty houses.
