According to legend, the miraculous icon of Saint Panteleimon was found here on the site of the former Kazaviti. The healer Saint Panteleimon is said to have stayed in a cave here. The cave still exists today and is located not far from the monastery complex. Water springs from a natural pool here, which, according to the faithful, has miraculous properties.

The local celebrity is Kosta, the tavern's owner. He occasionally plays a game of ouzo with the guests. No one leaves here without a homemade ouzo. A pure culinary experience.

Unfortunately, it's closed. Probably for a while.

Kostas is a real character. You have to experience him to understand. He's not for the faint-hearted.

Kastro is located in the center of the island of Thasos, on a high plateau (470–500 m above sea level) northwest of Theologos. According to the 2011 Greek census, Kastro has a population of nine.

This old village, which now has an access road, is being rebuilt. You can admire both old and new pretty houses.

At the rustic tavern, the former school of the village, you can take a rest in the shade of the large trees.

The monastery of "Agios Pantaleimonas" is located at an altitude of about 800 m above Micro Kazaviti or Micro Prinos. The monastery is worth a trip and a visit, especially the church and the grotto. Since the 18th century, the holy doctor Pantaleimon has been worshipped in the grotto during pilgrimage season.
