There is another path to the Omalos Plateau in the gorge. It is the Figou Gorge.

Caution: some sections are dangerous and the trail crosses several scree slopes. Do not venture out alone and avoid in the rain. We are used to mountain hikes, even demanding ones, but we were surprised by the danger of this one (hike carried out at the end of September 2025 in rain and wind / we stopped at the pass).

We were completely alone there, too. It was amazing!

A large, beautifully secluded beach that can only be reached on foot or by boat. We were completely alone here during a stopover on the way from Agia Roumeli to Sougia. I didn't think something like this was even possible in the touristy parts of Europe anymore. Hopefully this beach stays as beautiful as it is.

The path from the forepeak to the actual summit is a bit more challenging. There are some small climbing sections. Marked with red dots.
