The Agora building was built in 1911-1913 and opened at the end of 1913 by Eleftherios Venizelos himself. Since then, Hala Targowa has operated continuously for 109 years and has become an integral part of the urban fabric of Chania. This place is important for both the residents of Chania and the tourists who come here. For the former, it is not only a market for shopping, but also a popular meeting place and a kind of landmark. Tourists like to come here to buy local products. In 1980 the building was declared a historical monument by the Ministry of Culture. The historic agora is currently being extensively reconstructed.

The old Venetian harbor of Chania is beautiful, although it is now full of tourist shops. The construction was completed in 1356 AD and served the trade of the Venetians. In the 16th century a fortification project is built. Nevertheless, it was left to its own devices during the period of Turkish rule. Lots of historical landmarks and of course the lighthouse that dominates its entrance. It's worth walking around and admiring the colorful buildings
