South of Bremen and directly on the Weser is the Wieltsee, which has developed from a former gravel pit into one of the largest leisure harbors on the Middle Weser. The approximately 20 hectare natural harbor was created after the end of the dredging work in the course of gravel mining with a breakthrough to the Weser. In 1979 the first club jetty was put into operation. Marina Wieltsee, other clubs and a yacht service followed. The municipality of Weyhe acquired the body of water in 2010, renovated the existing marina and leased it to a professional operator.
