The circular hiking trail leads past the foot of the Altfels. If you want, you can climb it with the help of steel ropes and steps carved into the rock. Due to the shortness of the steep climbing section and the thick steel cables, it wasn't particularly difficult. However, one should be free from fear and anyway be careful. Slipping would be fatal. I had another visitor, who had climbing gear, explain to me that some of them got a whack when they descended.
