The Roman Catholic, listed parish church of St. George is located in Zellingen, a market town in the Main-Spessart district. The parish is part of the Zellingen subdivision of the Karlstadt pastoral area in the Main-Spessart deanery, Diocese of Würzburg. On April 26, 1786, Prince-Bishop Franz Ludwig von Erthal provided the Baroque hunting lodge, also known as the "White Castle," to replace the old and dilapidated parish church. This castle was originally built in 1717 under Prince-Bishop Johann Philipp von Greiffenclau zu Vollraths. Its conversion into a new parish church was carried out according to plans by Johann Philipp Geigel, the Prince-Bishop's court architect in Würzburg. The work, carried out in 1786/87, included the conversion of the two-story castle into a hall church, a two-story gallery in the southeast, a recessed, three-sided choir on the southwest side, and a church tower. The material for the choir and tower came from the "Red Water Castle," which was demolished at the same time. The exterior facade design and the portals with open staircases on the northeast and southwest sides were preserved, while the east side received a new portal and a curved triangular gable. The construction work was carried out by Würzburg court master mason Peter Meyer. In 1972, an interior renovation took place, including a redesign of the choir. Between 1987 and 1989, a comprehensive exterior and interior renovation took place, including another liturgical redesign of the choir, an expansion of the sacristy, and a renewal of the heating system. From here you have a beautiful view back to Himmelstadt and the vineyard chapel "Maria an der Kelter"

At the end of the path we leave the vineyards in Himmelstadt through a gate on the right (marked "M"). Please close the gate again afterwards. After a short climb through a forest we reach the next vineyards through another gate (this should also be closed again).
