Falkenstein Castle is the ruin of a medieval hilltop castle (Reichsburg) above the village of the same name Falkenstein on Donnersberg in Rhineland-Palatinate, the highest elevation in the Palatinate. A first mention from 1135 refers to Sigbold von Falkenstein and not to the castle. Neu-Wolfstein Castle was probably built in the first half of the 14th century.
