Very nice path along the Rhine promenade in Germersheim.

Two dials of the tower clock are attached to the east and west side of the old gate. The hands on the large dials show the hour, the hands on the small dials the quarter hours. The old gate forms the end of Maximilianstraße opposite the cathedral.

The brick factory is a nice change on the cycle path from Germersheim in the direction of Wörth am Rhein. Storks nest here and the beer garden looks very inviting.

The Rheinbrücke Germersheim is a two-track railway bridge that spans the Rhine near Germersheim. It lies on the Germersheim–Bruchsal railway line.

Often very crowded here on Sundays. Otherwise a worthwhile destination.

It's great here. There is always something to discover.

Founded around 1000 years ago, the Speyer Cathedral is today the largest Romanesque church in the world and has a correspondingly large cathedral square. In the middle of the cathedral square, in front of the west portal of the cathedral, there is a huge bowl, the so-called cathedral bowl, which marked the borderline between the medieval city and the cathedral immunity. From the end of the 15th century it was customary for the new bishop to make a debut and have the Domnapt filled with wine so that the people of Speyer could drink to his health.

The meatballs here are very tasty with a homemade potato salad… friendly, fast service…
