The special thing about this castle is that it actually had two outer baileys. The western and the eastern outer bailey. In the area of the former western outer bailey there is now a war memorial. This dam on the Nahe is embedded in a wonderful landscape. The Nahe meanders through the mountains and rocks in large and sometimes narrow loops. This place is simply gorgeous, especially in sunny weather when the water sparkles beautifully.
