The boatmen serve a longing - down the Rhine from Lake Constance to the North Sea :)

After the Rhine floods of the 1980s, extensive dike rehabilitation was carried out here, which also included sheet piling in the so-called winter dike. Since then, sheet piling in the dike has ensured that the dike does not become unstable during floods and thus prevent breaches. The dike also offers two beautiful cycling routes.

Better to go up to look, the better bike path is down

The better bike path is below the dam to the interior ...but the more beautiful view is on top. 😎

In this section, the path on the dam is worthwhile, as the Rhine flows here directly behind the dam.

A very popular cycle motorway on weekends in summer. From now on in November you often drive for kilometers here without meeting a cyclist. Nature is unspectacular, but not without charm. From time to time it is worth driving a section up on the dam, because then you can look over the dike into the much more interesting nature towards the Rhine.

You feel like you are on the coast, at least here the wind can blow quite well😎
