Argula von Grumbach, born in Beratzhausen in 1492, died around 1554. She was a Protestant publicist and reformer. From 1510 she lived in Lenting for around 20 years. She read the writings of Martin Luther. Later, Argula was one of the first female authors in Protestantism. An interesting life story that can also be read on Wikipedia. Wikipedia also serves as a source for the above data. At the annual strong beer festival in Lenting, a citizen always appears as Argula and gives a humorous speech on current issues in the community. Here at the local school there is a summary of Argula's life and work.
