The Saar cycle path is consistently well developed. You can follow it from the mouth of the Saar into the Moselle near Konz to Gondrexange in Alsace. There he encounters the Rhine-Marne Canal. After Saargemünd, however, the path follows the Saar-Kohle Canal and no longer the Saar.

This 30 meter high steel construction has stood on the Duhamel spoil heap since 2016 to commemorate the several hundred year history of Saarland mining. It also serves as a viewing platform and is freely accessible. The panoramic view is very rewarding. In the meantime, green waste heaps, factories and the Dillinger Hütte can be seen in a beautiful landscape.
