The heathland landscape of the Lüneburg Heath is beautiful at any time of year. The vast expanses of heathland, with their purple carpets, are a feast for the eyes during the flowering season. Those who don't necessarily have to travel during the flowering season are better off choosing the other seasons when there's significantly less going on.

The heath garden is worth a visit even in winter. Further down in the heath garden, there's a large sundial and a few other things. It's easy to cycle through.

Very nice trails for mountain biking, gravel biking, and hiking. In the warmer months, there are a lot of carriages on the wider trails, but as long as you treat each other with respect and don't let your hair down, the trails are easy to navigate. There are many possible combinations of trails. Some even have very nice downhill runs for mountain biking!

At a height of 108 m there is a viewing hut from which you have a wide view over the Wümmetal with its heath fields. You can see juniper, forests and heath as far as the horizon. A breathtaking panorama in every season. When the heather is in bloom, this spot is of course very popular, but even in winter, when the heather has calmed down and the air is clear and cold, the place retains its magic. The Heidschnuckenweg connects the heath pearls of the Lüneburg Heath and is one of the most beautiful multi-day hiking trails in Germany. Multifaceted heath areas, legendary cultural sites and idyllic heath villages line the trail. The highlight of the final stage of the hiking trail is the breathtaking residential town of Celle, where the electors and kings of Hanover felt at home. Not many hiking trails nearby offer such a unique natural backdrop. The best way to get to know and love the entire landscape diversity of the Lüneburg Heath is to hike the Heidschnuckenweg.
