The Enns Bridge is one of the most famous bridges in Austria and connects Ennsdorf (Lower Austria) and Enns (Upper Austria) over the Enns River. In May 1945, some of the last fighting in Austria took place at the Enns Bridge before Soviet and American soldiers shook hands here. The “Russian hut” and the barriers were rebuilt and the film crew transformed Ennsdorf into a “little Hollywood”. The film, like the first part, became a classic. A crucifix was once placed in the middle of the old wooden bridges. That's why the steel bridge built in 1932 was equipped with a cross.
