With this small - but certainly dignified - Holocaust memorial, the town of Hambuch commemorates its former Jewish fellow citizens who became victims of the inhuman dictatorship of the Nazi regime. A text panel explains very well the imagery of this important monument, which, in addition to the names of the victims, also contains a plea for forgiveness.

Saint John the Baptist (also Saint John the Baptist), to whom the church in Hambuch is dedicated, is – like Saint Joseph – a man on the threshold from the Old to the New Testament. His parents are Zechariah and Elisabeth. After the proclamation of God's incarnation, the Mother of God visits her relative Elisabeth, who will give birth to a son in old age, John the Baptist. This is half a year older than Jesus and is considered his forerunner / pioneer. He lives in the desert, preaches the repentance of sins to the Jewish population and baptizes them in the Jordan, where Jesus also comes to be baptized, being filled with the Holy Spirit that descends on him from heaven. The memorial day of John the Baptist (Baptist) in the calendar of saints is June 24th, exactly half a year before 'Christmas Eve'.

The hiking hut sponsored by a local bank stands very romantically in the forest with a view of the Hambucher mill and the entrance of a tunnel.

Built as a hall in 1847/48. Is very dominant in the center of the village.
