The beer garden with a very large play park is really nice. To clarify: it is not a beer garden in the classic sense, i.e. with chestnuts, draft beer, etc. But the people there are friendly, the newly built cycle path down to Egglkofen is beautiful, so everything is recommendable.

The little church in Hampersberg is a single-nave, late Gothic brick building with a west tower from the second half of the 15th century. The little church is dedicated to Saint Kilian, and its secondary patron saints are Saint Martin and Saint George. Another church also stood on the ridge towards Engfurt and belonged to the former castle of Erharting. The relics of Saint Ulrich, which are also located in Hampersberg today, come from this church.

Neumarkt - St.Veit - Beautiful marketplace with many shops and restaurants

This section of the cycle path was under construction for what felt like an eternity and was finally finished in 2021. It does not run strictly parallel to the main road, like other cycle paths, but is adapted to the terrain. It is therefore constantly up and down, to the left and right and around houses, while the main road next to it runs straight. That certainly makes sense and was probably cheaper too, it feels like a suspension bridge, a seesaw and a loop are still missing. A really great path, with the main road, cycle path and farm track sometimes right next to each other. The asphalt area is very fine and on inclines there are even markings for oncoming traffic.

With an eye for detail, you can see the local chronicler and the most important buildings of the Neumarkt-St. Veit market gathered together to crown the fountain. The fountain stands in a secluded, tree-lined square with benches and away from through traffic. An ideal place for the half-time break!
