This Renaissance building has dominated the valley's landscape since 1627 and was built by General Peter Stein, the lord of the miners and miners in the Christophstal Valley, as a retirement home. It is one of the few remaining buildings to have survived the great city fires of 1632 and 1945, and the only stepped-gabled house in Freudenstadt. From the Bärenschlössle, there is a magnificent panoramic view up to Freudenstadt. Directly behind it is a red deer enclosure. Today, the Bärenschlössle estate, with its event barn, is an ideal venue for weddings, birthdays, Christmas parties, corporate events, etc. Source: https://www.schwarzwald-tourismus.info/attraktionen/freudenstadt-baerenschloessle-9b82394cee

A little hard to find, and unfortunately a little neglected. Very manageable. But still OK as part of the attraction on the Four Castles Trail.

From the valley, the ruins can be reached via a narrow path (somewhat hidden) in 200 meters. It goes up a grassy path. The tower stump walls are overgrown with grass, moss...

Hidden ruin in the green. A small bench in the middle.

A piece of history. In the middle there is a bench where you can sit and immerse yourself in contemporary history.
