The cycle path between Wilhelmshaven and Aurich along the Ems-Jade Canal is, with very few exceptions, easily navigable. Unfortunately, there are few restaurants along the entire route.

There is a small marina and flat-bottomed boats here. The Ems-Jade Canal was built between 1880 and 1888. Its creation was prompted by the need to supply the Imperial Navy's ships at the Imperial Naval Port of Wilhelmshaven with coal from the Ruhr region.
