via the Felsensteig you come to the Stubenfelsen and can then cross it

A nice climb around the Stubenfelsen with a good view.

Very mystical place. The last public execution took place in 1818 🤭. I would not recommend visiting in the dark. "Gertrude is watching you" 😱

The Stubenfelsen is a mighty group of rocks consisting of several large rocks. The rocks are stratigraphically placed in the upper scree horizon of the Middle Buntsandstein. The rocks show overhangs and cave-like niches. Very good cross bedding cycles have been developed on the walls. Here you can re-enact how such a cruel beheading felt. Nice photo opportunity. Fortunately, the last execution was long ago (1818).

Great valley. However demanding. The path leads partly in the creek bed and you have to walk from stone to stone. In two places even climb over a rock (approx. 1.50 m high). A rope is already available for support and security.

The Rötelbach valley is particularly beautiful because it is so narrow and lovely. It has a certain similarity to the Monbach Valley, but much, much narrower.
