The Katzenbacher Hof originated from a cattle farm that was run on behalf of the "Hospital for the Poor and Needy in Esslingen". At the beginning of the 19th century, Esslingen had the agricultural land reforested, except for five and a half acres. In 1896, the old buildings were demolished. A forester's house with a guest room - today's tourist restaurant - was built and is now a listed building.

A great and adventurous crossing of the Monbach. There are a total of three such stream crossings in the Monbachtal. After heavy rain or in early spring (e.g. after the snow melts) the stepping stones can be flooded.
