Unfortunately, the bridge is currently almost unusable. Parts of the railing are broken off, and the bridge is crooked and extremely slippery.

The gatehouse is currently being renovated (August 2025). It's wrapped like a work of art by Vhristo. But it's still very impressive.

The estate, built in 1889, is located in the idyllic village of Trenthorst. It has been federal property for several years. The wealthy Hamburg merchant and oil manufacturer Friedrich Thörl was the owner of the Trenthorst-Wulmenau double estate from 1910 to 1928. He initiated a modernization process that was unique for rural areas. Here, in his "headquarters," a power station was built to provide electricity, as well as a water tower with a wind turbine and pumping station to supply water to the two Trenthorst and Wulmenau estates.

The mansion (white) built on the estate in 1889 has been federal property for several years. and is home to the Thünen Institute for Organic Agriculture, which researches current ecological issues. The origins go back to the 14th century, and the farmyard and gatehouse in red clinker are particularly beautiful.
