A lovely biotope. The small lake is densely overgrown with reeds. A small, inconspicuous bench invites you to rest and take in the beauty of nature. I think you can also observe all sorts of birds and other animals here. When we were there, we saw many birds, a grey heron, dragonflies, and so on.

Impressive, majestic pillars in the middle of the forest. These pillars once marked the border here. Historically, they are very interesting. An information panel explains the significance of these two pillars.

If you walk the Kister Blutsee loop, you can also make a detour to the Hoheitssäulen (Highness Columns). These are located in the middle of nowhere, and the vegetation may have grown quite tall along the way. Nevertheless, the detour is worth it 🙂. There are also some tree trunks in the way.

Water towers are often technical monuments and offer fascinating insights into the history of water supply. Many are located at elevated points – perfect for a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding area. Anyone interested in technology or architecture will find something to their liking here.

Why a visit to the old quarry is still worthwhile Even though the quarry is no longer open to the public, it's a fascinating place. The sheer size of the crater is impressive – it gives you an idea of how much labor and technology was once required to mine rock. From a safe vantage point, you can marvel at the steep cliffs and the depths. What's particularly exciting is that some of the quarries are home to rare animals and plants that have adapted to the unique environment. This is a real insider tip for nature and geology enthusiasts.
