The perfume manufacturer Ferdinand Mülhens had the magnificent building built, which offers a wonderful view of the Rhine Valley. The building was rebuilt several times and in the meantime it was even used as a military hospital. In the fall of 1949, the Grand Hotel gained its fame when Chancellor Konrad Adenauer negotiated the Petersberg Agreement with the Allied High Commission. The hotel continued to operate from 1954 to 1973 before it was acquired and renovated by the federal government. Since 1990 it has shone in new splendor. Since then, guests have included US President Bill Clinton and Michael Schumacher.

The Petersberg, formerly also called Stromberg, is 335.9 m above sea level. NHN high summit of the Siebengebirge in the Rhein-Sieg district, North Rhine-Westphalia. It rises east of the Rhine above and in the urban area of Königswinter. The Bad Godesberg district of Bonn is located on the opposite bank.

We are by train to Bonn, good connection and then to Königswinter back to Leverkusen! Almost 80 km Very good to drive 😃
