Fine view of the old town of Miltenberg and the old Main riverbank

The Würzburg Gate stands at the eastern end of Miltenberg's old town. Together with the Mainz Gate at the western end of the town, it forms the historic end of the old town. The gate is part of the old city fortifications, built in the 14th century. Originally, the gate served as a means of defense and control: Anyone wishing to enter the city had to pass through here and often pay tolls or taxes. The name "Würzburger Tor" derives from the direction toward Würzburg – the road led (and still leads) in this direction.

The town of Eschau has completed a comprehensive renovation of the listed historic town hall. Following completion, the building, including the Market Hall, Council Chamber, and Council Chamber, will be available for cultural use.

A Swedish fountain for Eschau – the artist Winfried Becker didn't come up with the name himself. A "Swedish fountain" already stood at the same intersection where a market square is now to become Eschau's new center. The old pump fountain is the successor to a draw well, which had a column with a carved head, the "Swedish head."
