Beautiful little mini climbing trail that starts with a short ladder. Then it goes over rocks and some steps with ropes that lead to the Göthepunkt lookout tower. If you don't want to walk the short distance of 500 meters, you can walk along the paved Alte Straße.

The ruin is privately owned. The castle was built in the early 14th century. Built by Archbishop Balduin of Trier to control and weaken the lords of Westerburg at Schaumburg Castle (now Schaumburg Castle). Since the 17th century it was left to decay and even temporarily demolished.

Great path, but it absolutely requires sure-footedness and sturdy shoes

Demanding but an absolute must if you are in Obernhof or on the Lahn hiking trail. The ascent is rewarded with a beautiful view at the Goethepunkt.
