The Kitzelsee is a natural lake with a silting up and moor area. The lake is part of the LSG-00337.01 landscape protection area, which has existed since 1982. Idyllic hamlet with a small pond and the former branch church of St. Ulrich. The existence of the branch church has been documented since 1100. The year of construction of today's chapel has not been handed down exactly, probably from the first half of the 18th century. The chapel is privately owned but can be visited on Memorial Day.

The lake is very idyllic - the small detour from the main path is worthwhile. The Kitzelsee is a small moraine lake and thus a relic of the last ice age (dead ice kettle). Its adjacent bog areas and wetland complexes are habitat for a number of rare animal and plant species and are therefore of great ecological importance. The area around the Kitzelsee is a protected landscape area, so please stay on the paths, keep your dog on a leash and observe the swimming ban!

A little hidden, right next to the main path, some mountain bike enthusiasts have created a great bike park here. Various moguls, kickers and associated gaps make each of the countless runs a must for anyone who likes to sail through the air on their bike. Thanks at this point to the guys and girls who built this! 👌🤘😝
