Fresh, cool drinking water. At 30 degrees in the shade (and there's not much of that in the Aartal) it's an absolute highlight for me.

Old Roman spring, which was renovated with a lot of commitment - a big thank you to the helpers! The water tastes slightly ferrous, fizzes slightly and is refreshing. Ideal for filling up the drinking bottles, the water has drinking water quality and is checked regularly 👍

One of the most beautiful parts of the Lahn is certainly in Balduinstein. The village with the castle ruins nestles in the very narrow valley. Schaumburg Castle towers over everything.

The Lahn Bridge in Balduinstein was the first prestressed concrete bridge to be erected using a cantilever. In 1951 it replaced a bridge over the Lahn that was destroyed in World War II.

The Lahn cycle path is very well maintained. After Scheidt Schleuse there is an earth slide in the course of the narrow stretch of the way, 2 meters.

On the lower section, the Lahn cycle path runs almost completely along the shore and is usually easy to drive.

This route is my home route. Start above Limburg, via Diez always along the Lahn to Balduinstein. There are two benches opposite the marina. One is always free. Break for an apple juice spritzer and a biscuit. Then the same back or the Lahnhöhenweg (level crossing and then left up) to Birlenbach, Diez, Holzheim, Blumenrod, Linterer Wald and towards Bad Camberg.
