Not only is cycling prohibited here, but even carrying bicycles is prohibited. You are neither allowed to push nor carry your bike! Possibly even possessing a bicycle is a criminal offense. This isn't clearly indicated at the entrance; there's just a crossed-out biker on a bicycle. After pushing our bikes 2km and about 300 meters in elevation to the Col de Cou, we fell victim to state-sanctioned highway robbery and paid 50 CHF per person (July 30, 2025).

The place is called Buvette de la Lé, not Buvette du Valon de Réchy. Nice place, very friendly service.

A magnificent view of the Rhône from the bridge. There is a walking path where you can take a photo and enjoy the scenery. After the bridge on the right when leaving Sierre you will see a small rest area with several benches (along the river).

Mercier Castle, originally called Pradegg Castle, stands magnificently and sophisticatedly on a hill in the town of Sierre (French: Sierre). For half a century, the castle served mainly as a summer residence for the Mercier family until its donation to the canton of Valais in 1991. Since then, as required by the conditions of the donation, the castle and the adjoining park are mainly used for public, cultural and artistic purposes.

Lac de la Brèche is famous for its crystal clear waters and its surrounding landscapes. The water is very clear, during warmer periods you can enjoy a quick swim. There is a small pier nearby where you can rest or sunbathe. Access is free, there are no amenities, please take all trash with you.
