Now, during the peak holiday season, the market square has been filled with 150 tons of sand to create an artificial beach for those who stayed at home. The matching deck chairs and the large fountain replace the sea.

Here on the medieval market square, with its beautiful half-timbered houses, the TV comedy was filmed in 2006; "My sweet secret" with Gila von Weitershausen and Friedrich von Thun as arguing and loving confectioners.

Despite Corona, this extraordinary observation tower is open for inspection. A staircase leads up and down through the shape of a double helix, which are then signposted for one-way traffic. With the car park just 400 meters away, the tower is very popular.

For those with a head for heights this is certainly an experience. Unfortunately, I cannot count myself among them. Still imposing.
