Beautiful historic pub from the 17th century. Pub rebuilt after a fire using timber from the ship White Bear, which also participated in the Armada of 1588.

Worth scrambling down to the bottom for the best view. Best done when it is not muddy.

The trail is graded Blue for beginners and is 1.3km in length. The trail is suited to mountain bikes and care needs to be taken due to trail features such as berms, rock gardens and jumps, all of which are rollable at slow speed. Take your time on the first run and get used to the track first before picking up speed on the next loop.

A little walk around the chuch yard with some interesting stones St. James' congregation gives a warm welcome both to those who live in the small village of Tong, and to others in the local area. Our main Sunday worship is at 9.30am. All are welcome The church building is fascinating - for whilst the present building as it stands dates from 1727, there is still evidence of the Norman church of 1140, and of the medieval additions. Earlier remains of a Saxon church were found beneath the present building at the time of a major restoration in 1980.

Norwood Green is a tranquil village between Halifax and Bradford in Calderdale. There are some lovely walks in the woodland immediately to the east of the village, while the Calderdale Way long-distance hike also passes through. If you're feeling peckish, both the Old White Beare and the Pear Tree serve great food.
