Myton의 다리는 12세기 초부터 존재했지만, 중세 시대의 다리들은 반복적으로 무너지거나 파괴되었습니다. 1354년까지 중세 다리는 다시 무너졌고, 수 세기 동안 이 뱃길은 신뢰할 수 없었습니다. 현재의 철제 다리는 Myton Hall의 Henry Miles Stapylton이 의뢰하여 1868년에 완성되었습니다. 이곳은 또한 1319년 9월 20일, 경험 많은 스코틀랜드 약탈자들에게 압도당한, 주로 성직자들이 이끄는 영국 민병대에게 재앙적인 패배였던, 때때로 “백색 전투”라고 불리는 Myton 전투(1319)의 장소이기도 했습니다. 이 전투는 Myton‑on‑Swale의 Swale 강 옆 초원에서 벌어졌으며, 그 결과 에드워드 2세는 Berwick 공성전을 포기해야 했습니다.

I believe that the bridge is closed for repair until 31 October 2023 so look to take a detour. Komoot has automatically routed me across the golf course to the North which you can get through with your bike (unofficially).
