It's a wonderful place, Smearsett Scar. There are terrific views of upper Ribblesdale from up here, with Fountains Fell beyond, but most of all, I would say, the phenomenal silhouette of Pen-y-ghent.

It's really worth the sometimes steep and rough hike to the top of Warrendale Knotts for the superb views over the spectacular local limestone formations, as well as the far ranging views to the Three Peaks

This is the highest point in the Forest of Bowland, it has a trig point and on a clear day, you can see the Lake District fells from here. It's a wonderful view.
