A nature reserve close to the city centre of Lancaster. Nice area to get away from the noise of the town and makes a very nice walk when combined with the nearby Lancaster Canal.

What a view from this point. This is after the Trig point and you are then on the rocky descent back to Rigg Lane Car Park. This part of the walk is tough on the knees so good walking boots and walking sticks are advised.

Long descent heading back toward Lancaster, with a couple of tight hairpin bends. Easy to overcook it, so take care.

The trig point at this end of the ridge and the eastern edge of the Forest of Bowland stands at 413m. It offers amazing views west out over Lancaster to Morecombe Bay and north-west to the Lake District. The ridgeline from here to Ward's Stone and beyond is a great run, it can be turned into a loop from any of the local car parks.

The small brook running down from the hillside below Clougha Pike is very pretty and makes a great picnic spot. It's also a good destination with kids who will have a lot of fun playing here on a warm day. The stream path is often used as an ascent or descent for a loop of Clougha Pike from the Rigg Lane car park.

No. 76 in the top 100 road climbing list. The road climbs 230m in 4.1km with an average gradient of 6% and a max gradiet of 16%. The road is called Quernmore Brow and the Jubilee Tower is at the viewpoint on the summit.
