The castle has had a new owner since March 2025, the owner of the Neuschwanstein Festival Hall in Füssen. The castle will now serve as an annex to the Festival Hall, meaning the administration will move in here, as well as providing accommodations for artists and theater guests. The restaurant will operate only for events.

This castle was built in 1424, and a new building was constructed between 1722 and 1729, much of which has survived to this day. In 1984, the Bavarian Music Academy moved in.

The view across Lake Forggensee to Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles is a magical panorama that perfectly captures the beauty of Bavaria. In the foreground you can see the calm, turquoise waters of Lake Forggensee, framed by rolling hills and green meadows. Behind them rise the majestic Allgäu Alps, in which the two famous castles are nestled. Neuschwanstein Castle, with its tall towers and fairytale appearance, sits on a hill and almost seems to float above the forests and mountains. Not far away is the slightly more modest but equally historic Hohenschwangau Castle, easily recognizable by its yellow facade. On a clear day, especially in summer, the entire panorama is reflected in the smooth surface of Lake Forggensee, making the view even more impressive.

The former Prince-Bishop's Palace, Marktoberdorf What was once the official residence of the bailiffs, the episcopal provosts, and later the hunting lodge of the Augsburg prince-bishops is now the seat of the Surveying Office and the Bavarian Academy of Music. The beautiful four-winged palace was built between 1723 and 1729 and again in 1761 by Johann Georg Fischer.
