Beautifully situated chapel on a stretch of the Way of St. James. Unfortunately, you can almost drive to the chapel by car, so there is a lot going on there.

The pilgrimage church "Maria Buch" is directly connected to the Neresheim monastery. So it was Abbot Meinrad in 1649, who rode over the Buchrain on one of his official rides to the nearby parish of Ohmenheim and found the miraculous image of Maria Einsiedeln in the aforementioned beech. He took this as an opportunity to have Maria proclaimed the patron saint of the Härtsfeld, because the Härtsfeld in particular had been affected by the turmoil of the 30-year war, entire towns had been destroyed and wiped out. The figure of Mary remained in its original place in the beech tree, it was only protected by a lattice. In the years that followed, more and more people from Haertsfeld made the pilgrimage to that place, until 1663 the beech tree was converted into a small house. In 1708 Abbot Magnus laid the foundation stone for the construction of a church. Here, too, the beech tree was included. The supply of the pilgrimage church used to be provided by the nearby monastery. It was one of the tasks of the monks to take care of the pilgrimage, but also to create detailed records of the answers to prayer and miraculous events from 1706 onwards. These monks were given the nickname "Booklords". Due to the siege of the French in 1796, the pilgrimage church "Maria Buch" burned down completely.
