The Lahnaue nature reserve includes wet meadows and several lakes that were created from former gravel pits. The area has developed into an important resting and transit area for waterfowl. So always stay on the path. If you keep quiet, you have a good chance of spotting some of the shy birds.

The old bridge over the Lahn between Dutenhofen and Atzbach is a beautiful building that fits into the landscape. On this side of the Lahn downstream to Dorlar is more scenic.

Relatively flat, asphalted path from Gießen to Wetzlar. Past Atzbach and Dorlar you always have the Lahn on the sunny side 🤗 sometimes you can rush through quite quickly, although pedestrians often like to cavort along the way. Even more at the weekend. I also often meet skaters on the track.
