Two dials of the tower clock are attached to the east and west side of the old gate. The hands on the large dials show the hour, the hands on the small dials the quarter hours. The old gate forms the end of Maximilianstraße opposite the cathedral.

The brick factory is a nice change on the cycle path from Germersheim in the direction of Wörth am Rhein. Storks nest here and the beer garden looks very inviting.

Founded around 1000 years ago, the Speyer Cathedral is today the largest Romanesque church in the world and has a correspondingly large cathedral square. One of the most beautiful places in Speyer are the beer gardens on the Rhine promenade. There is nothing better than sitting on a bike tour on the shady banks of the Rhine, enjoying a beer and watching the ships.
