The Volcano Cycle Path leads over the old bridge with four arches. The bridge is not a delicate structure.

The Windecken district takes its name from Wonnecken Castle, which stands on a mountain spur above the farming town. The inner castle fortifications, as well as the eastern gate and the tower of the western gate of the outer bailey, have been preserved. The old town, located in the Katzbach Valley and bordered to the north by the Nidder River, is of interest. Although the town was largely destroyed in the Thirty Years' War, its medieval structure has been almost completely preserved. In addition to the castle, the town's parish church and the market square with the town hall and renovated half-timbered houses dominate the townscape.

The complex consists of an outer and main castle. The main castle was rebuilt in the 16th century. The Witches' Tower in the outer castle was built in the 15th century.

The "Lindheim Years of Terror" took place in the 17th century, as the Protestant pastor Otto Glaubrecht (pseudonym for Rudolf Oeser) describes this time of witch mania in his 1850 book. Citizens were imprisoned in the tower, which was part of the former city wall. Within 9 months, 20 innocent people were hanged or beheaded on the spot and then burned.
